Accounting integration: connect or export to your accounting program
Transfer your customers, sales entries and payments to your accounting program - via a direct API integration or an export. With step-by-step instructions per program.

Setting up the accounting integration
With the accounting integration, you transfer your customers, sales entries (and, for some integrations, your payments too) to your accounting program. This means you no longer have to type anything over. You can find it under Finance -> Accounting integration.
> The accounting integration has been expanded with new integrations and is still in beta: you can already use it and we would love to hear your feedback.
Two ways to connect
At the top, choose your accounting program. There are two types:
- API integration (the lightning icon) - you connect your accounting program once, then synchronize your data with one click. Fully automatic.
- Export (the document icon) - you download a file and import it into your accounting system yourself. Useful if you do not use an API.
Some programs offer both. Not sure? Start with the export; that always works.
Step 1 - Set up journals and general ledger (one time)
Before you export or synchronize, set the journal and general ledger account to which your revenue and payments will be posted. This can be set per booking type (pet boarding, dog school, grooming salon, ...) and per payment method.
Click Edit accounting allocation, enter the codes and save. Not sure which codes to use? Ask your accountant; they know your chart of accounts.
You only need to do this once; we will remember your setting.
Step 2a - Create an export
1. Choose your accounting program (optionally filter by Export).
2. Choose the period: everything, or a date range.
3. Click Export.
4. Download the files (customers, sales entries and/or payments).
5. Import them into your accounting program, usually under Import / Importing / Read in.
The files are CSV (readable by Excel/your accounting system). Two programs use UBL: see E-invoice (UBL) and Octopus below.
Step 2b - Activate an API integration
1. Choose your accounting program (optionally filter by API integration).
2. Connecting works in one of two ways:
- Exact Online, Visma and Twinfield: click Authorize and connect. You will be redirected to your accounting program to log in and give approval, then you will automatically return. You do not need to enter any keys yourself.
- Moneybird, SnelStart, e-Boekhouden, Acumulus, Reeleezee: enter the requested details (a token or key from your accounting program, see the program-specific instructions below) and click Connect.
3. After that, you synchronize your customers and sales entries with one click, for the selected period.
Your data is sent in batches, so if you have many customers, synchronization may continue for a while; just leave it until it is done.
Per integration
API integrations
- Moneybird
Create a Personal access token in Moneybird (Moneybird -> your administration -> Settings -> Integrations / API tokens). Paste the token into the screen and click Connect. Moneybird synchronizes customers, sales entries and payments.
- Exact Online, Visma eAccounting and Twinfield
Click Authorize and connect. You will be redirected to your accounting program to log in and approve the integration, then you will automatically return. You do not need to enter any keys yourself; the integration with aniday is already arranged.
- SnelStart
Enter your Client key (connection key). You create it in your SnelStart environment under the connection/API settings. That is all you need.
- e-Boekhouden
Enter your API token. You create it in e-Boekhouden under Management -> Settings -> API/Integrations.
- Acumulus
Enter your Contract code, username and password (your Acumulus API details, which you can manage in Acumulus under your settings/API).
- Reeleezee
Enter your Reeleezee username and password.
Exports
Most programs (Exact Online, SnelStart, Yuki, e-Boekhouden, AccountView, Exact Globe, Rompslomp, Adsolut, AFAS, Informer, Acumulus, Reeleezee, Visma, Twinfield, Jortt, WeFact)
Download the CSV files and import them into your accounting program under Import / Importing. With some programs, you link the columns yourself during the import; this is self-explanatory.
- Octopus
Octopus reads sales invoices via UBL. With Octopus, you receive your customers as CSV and your sales entries as UBL files (in a ZIP). Read the UBL files in via the document import in Octopus.
- Basecone / E-invoice (UBL)
These are e-invoices in UBL format (Peppol BIS 3.0). You download a ZIP with one file per invoice. You can read these into a program that supports UBL or forward them to your accountant. Please note: you download the file yourself; nothing is sent automatically.
