Check Aniday platform fees in Mollie
Understand the difference between Mollie transaction fees and Aniday platform fees, and verify the monthly Aniday invoice against your Mollie balance report.
Written by Martijn
When payments are processed through Mollie, two different types of fees may occur: fees charged by Mollie for processing the payment and platform fees that Aniday settles through Mollie. These amounts do not automatically have the same invoice or accounting treatment.
The difference between the fees
Mollie transaction fees are the fees Mollie may charge for processing a payment method. The current rates and terms in your Mollie account are leading.
Aniday platform fees are the fixed or variable application fees that Aniday processes through Mollie for eligible transactions. Aniday records these separately from Mollie transaction fees.
Do not use one fixed amount from a help article for every transaction. The amount may depend on the payment method, your agreement and the rates that apply at that time.
How the monthly Aniday invoice is created
Aniday collects platform fees that have not yet been invoiced for the previous calendar month. The invoice may group the fees by payment method and show fixed and variable fees separately.
The current process creates a sales invoice through Mollie with the status paid. It assumes that the amount has already been settled through the Mollie balance or payout.
Do not pay this invoice again without first checking the Mollie balance and the related payout details.
Check the amounts
Open the Mollie dashboard for the correct organisation.
Open the balance or payout report for the relevant calendar month.
Find the deductions or platform fees that belong to Aniday.
Compare the period and total with the Aniday invoice.
Check the invoice lines for fixed and variable fees per payment method.
Confirm that the invoice is marked as paid before processing it in your accounts.
Always use the Mollie profile connected to this Aniday organisation.
Process the fees in your accounting system
Download the available balance, transaction and payout reports from Mollie and keep them with the Aniday invoice. Ask your accountant to determine:
which ledger account should be used for the platform fees;
how Mollie transaction fees should be recorded separately;
which VAT treatment applies to your organisation, country and invoice;
how the settlement through the Mollie balance should be reconciled with the bank payout.
This article is not tax or accounting advice. The invoice, the Mollie report and your accountant's advice are leading.
If the amounts do not match
Check that the invoice and Mollie report cover the same month.
Check that you opened the correct Mollie profile.
Check that you are not confusing platform fees with Mollie's own transaction fees.
Do not pay or correct anything a second time until the difference has been explained.
Contact Aniday Support with the invoice and the relevant Mollie report.
